Wise word Wednesday: I don't have to accept it! This is a practical lesson that we all can use to dramatically improve our peace in life. There once was a man who was angry and hurt about the church and spoke to a minister. He accused the minister of corrupting youth, lying, blaspheming, thieving and all sorts of other things. The minister listened quietly while the man shouted and gesticulated until finally, tired and lost for further words, he paused.
After a moment he said to the minister, “Why don’t you defend yourself? Why do you say nothing?”
The minister responded: “If you brought me a bunch of flowers and I refused them, what would happen to the flowers?”
The man said: “I suppose they would remain with me until they withered and died.”
“Exactly”, replied the minister. “And so it is with your words. They remain with you until they wither and die.”
Today remember you don't have to accept negative, hurtful, painful, unfruitful or decisive words or thoughts from anyone; leave it with them where it can die and wither with them. I don't have to accept it!
