Sermon – Get Your Pass!
This is a sermon I preached July 17, 2011 from Nehemiah 6. The quality and sound are not the greatest because this is my lovely wife's cell phone recording from the audience. I pray that this video is a blessing to all who watch and listen. Here is a summary outline of the sermon.
Central Idea: Vision, Discernment, Goals and courage gets you to your "And it came to PASS" moment where God's help is realized.
I. Vision, Discernment and Goals
- DISCERNMENT -Nehemiah had the kind of spiritual discernment that leaders must possess if they are going to detect the enemy€™s strategy and defeat it.
- VISION - Second, he was convinced of the greatness of the work God had given him to do (v. 3).
- GOAL - Complete building the wall
II. Courage
- Courage is the confidence to act in accordance with one's beliefs
- I have a VISION, I have DISCERNMENT, I have GOALS....Should such a man as I flee?
- Faith looks back and draws courage, hope looks ahead and keeps desires alive.
III. Get Your Pass! /Conclusion
- (v. 16) And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.
